4th Annual Kickoff Jamboree
The Bengals hosted their 4th annual Kickoff Jamboree Friday and except for a storm delay, the day was a success. The Bengals kicked the day off against Blacksburg and the day ended with a Blue/Orange Game of Bengals against Bengals, where Tyler Martin hit a 38 yard Field Goal to win the game for the Bengals.
Thanks to everyone from the touchdown club for another successful jamboree.
1st Scrimmage in Graham
The Bengals traveled to Bluefield Friday for their first scrimmage. Bassett scrimmaged Graham, George Wythe, Richlands, Christiansburg, and William Fleming. Overall, it was a productive day for the Bengals as players started to solidify their spots on the depth chart. As most first scrimmages go, there were bright spots that made the coaching staff and fans look forward to this upcoming regualar season. Also, the first scrimmage reminds the coaching staff of the work that is still left to be done.
The Bengals are back in action this coming Friday when they host the 4th annual Kickoff Jamboree at Ed Bassett Stadium.
85 Attend Day One Workouts
The Bengals had 85 student/athletes attend first day of tryouts.
7 on 7 Tournament at Averett
The Bengals ended their summer 7 on 7 activities with a tournament victory at the 6th Annual Averett Passing Tournament.
The Bengals defeated Northeast Guilford, G.W. Danville, Rockingham, Bartlett-Yancey, and Dan River to advance from the Round Robin Rounds 5 - 0 and the top seed in the tournament.
The Bengals then defeated Bartlett Yancey in the semifinals and Virginia Episcopal in the finals to win the tournament.
